Cointelegraph compared the projection to the Bat-Signal — Gotham’s call to its protector, repurposed by Frankfurt’s dissidents as a call to its central bank. The framing was apt. The European Central Bank had spent the prior two years issuing public warnings about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, with ECB President Christine Lagarde describing bitcoin as a risky speculative asset and recommending banks limit their exposure. The projection was the response.
The artifact has two layers, both worth recording.
